Winter’s always a bit more frustrating for street photography. It’s not so much the weather, it’s more the lack of daylight. Even on dry, mild days there’s only a handful of hours to spare, especially in the afternoons when most urban areas really start to get active.
The weather was noticeably worse this year. I’m not made of sugar though, so as long as the camera was looked after then I was out there. The only issue is that everyone else takes cover, so less people on the streets for me to photograph. I like a challenge.
If it wasn’t for real life I’d get a lot more photography done. It seemed like I’d never get out in Edinburgh over August but some careful calendar management did the trick. In fact I managed to get out a good deal more than I thought. There was even a fair amount of evening photography as well, which isn’t something I usually do.
Of course, I never have just one roll of Ilford Pan F in my bag! Great weather for bubbles.
Have had some Ilford PanF burning a hole in my camera bag lately, so decided to head round Edinburgh and try things a little differently.
