Dawyck Gardens, pt 1

A beautifully colourful Autumn day at Dawyck Botanic Garden, near Peebles in the Scottish borders.

These gardens aren’t quite as large as the ones in Edinburgh but are a lot more closed in with undergrowth and trees.  That makes for a more maze-like experience – wonder what’s round the next corner?

The tree above has to be the most colourful I’ve ever seen.  I’ve done virtually no saturation on that image in post-production, it really did look that bright.

Dawyck House, above.  Still a private residence too, so no access to the public.  Not really missing much when the gardens are this nice though.
